About Us

Kirat cultural and spiritual background

Kirat Cultural Society of Pittsburgh is a community-based cultural and religious organization dedicated to preserving and practicing the ancient Kirat culture following Samzik Mundhum. We serve as a trusted cultural home for Kirat families—supporting religious observances, community gatherings, education, and cultural arts for people of all ages.

Over the years, our work has touched and supported many households and families through community service, cultural guidance, and meaningful events. We actively promote and empower the new younger generation by creating opportunities to learn, participate, and lead—through Kirat Lipi (script), philosophy studies, music, dance, and cultural presentations.

We are equally committed to uplifting women and senior adults—encouraging participation, leadership, and respect across generations. Our programs strengthen family bonds, identity, confidence, and community unity.

Beyond our own community, we bridge cultures by engaging with the wider Pittsburgh region and American society. We promote civic values, mutual respect, and cultural understanding—helping our community thrive as responsible and respectful American citizens while proudly carrying forward our Himalayan roots and Kirat identity.
